I grew up on a farm outside the town of Feversham and my twin brother, James, and two sisters. After attending the University of Western Ontario for history and sociology, I moved to Belfast, Northern Ireland, where I met my wife, Lisa. In 2015, we moved to Toronto, where James and I founded Straw Hat Renovations.

In 2022, Lisa and I relocated Straw Hat to the Georgian Bay area and have enjoyed being back home ever since. With my companies and infrastructure behind me, I am passionate about helping the community thrive. As President of Main Street Meaford, I am committed to revitalizing the downtown core and creating a vibrant, welcoming space that reflects our town’s unique heritage and fosters economic growth.

Born and raised in Oakville, ON. I spent most of my summers visiting or working in Meaford where my family purchased a cottage in 2003. Since meeting my wife in town in the summer of 2015, we have made several moves throughout the GTA, but always intended to move back to Meaford with our growing family. I graduated from the University of Guelph in 2017 with a B.Comm focused in Real Estate and since that time have worked with my family and network to help landowners, businesses and advocacy groups alike in improving our town.

I believe that our biggest challenge in attracting and keeping business in Downtown Meaford is through thorough review of our policy and regulatory framework. In my current role as Vice President, I aim to streamline the communication and processes between businesses and the municipality to keep businesses locating and growing within our downtown core, as well as connecting them to the greater business community beyond the bounds of the downtown.

Ron was born and raised in the Niagara Peninsula and moved to Meaford in 2022. Before his move to Meaford, his background includes senior financial and administrative roles for the Municipality of Fort Erie and The Buffalo and Fort Erie Public Bridge Authority, known as the Peace Bridge. 

In furtherance of the capital plan for Peace Bridge, he successfully completed a $53 million bond offering.

Ron’s academic background includes a degree in business from Cornell University and additional courses in business and management from Canadian universities.

Current volunteerism includes an executive member of the Meaford Pickleball Club, Treasurer for Christmas on the Bay and a finance committee member of the 150th Meaford Sesquicentennial celebration. Prior to moving to Meaford, Ron was a board member of the Fort Erie Economic Development Corporation, President of the Fort Erie Chamber of Commerce, Community Strategic Plan Infrastructure Community, and a member of the Fort Erie Centennial celebrations.

While at the Peace Bridge, Ron was a member of many international committees. Most importantly he coordinated the Intelligent Border Crossing Study involving representatives from Canada and the United States with a goal of efficiently and effectively facilitating trade between Canada and the United States in a compliant manner.

Ron is proud to join a team that will work to advance Main Street’s vision and provide positive economic opportunities for Meaford.

Angela has an educational background in Business Management, and specializes in digital content marketing, Search Engine Optimization, and E-commerce development. 

Currently, Angela works as the Marketing & E-commerce Director for Canadian Pet Connection, her family-owned business. She is a co-founder of the Grey Bruce Pet Professionals, the Georgian Bay FanCon,  and is the creator of the Meaford Pet Expo. 

Outside of the Main Street Meaford board, Angela is also the Community Outreach Director for the Meaford Culture Foundation (MCF), and sits on the Municipality’s Strengthening our Community Advisory Committee (SCAC).

Previously, she sat on the board for the local Chamber of Commerce,  the Parks Advisory Committee, and co-chaired other professional networking associations.

I have been running my own business for over 15 years. Upon moving to Meaford, I promptly opened a private studio, catering to the haircare needs of locals and clients from the GTA.

Alongside other downtown Meaford business owners, I have helped organize successful events such as Summer Fest, Goosechase, Meaford Maple Mania, and more. I am very excited about Main Street Meaford and working with other driven individuals to lay the groundwork for the economic revitalization of Meaford.
